FOURTH OF JULY & PATRIOTIC PICNIC
The Fourth of July reminds us that all Americans have a stake in independence. Let us continue to pursue freedom, oppose oppression, and celebrate individuality.
Join other Democrats in celebrating patriotism Tuesday, July 8, at 6 p.m. The Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women's Club welcomes everyone to it's yearly air-conditioned picnic to celebrate the Fourth of July and summer fun with fellow Democrats, male and female. The picnic will be held at the IBEW Hall off Bonny Oaks. The purpose is to have fun. Meeting like-minded people who also volunteer their time and money to help elect Democratic candidates to offices, both local and national, helps us to build a sense of community. It is a great entry level to become acquainted with people who are already involved in campaigns and the local Democratic Party.
This post has 1 reply...Here I am on July 5th in our nation's capitol where over 10,000 delegates just listened to Barack Obama in a live feed from Montana. Our future president just thanked the National Education Association for their endorsement (voted on yesterday by secret ballot). He outlined his education plan and received standing ovations from the group. How proud I amto be an American, a Democrat, and most of all a teacher.
